About this product
The Adams Idea a7 Single 8 Iron is a right-handed men's club with a 37-degree loft and a steel Players Lite Regular flex shaft. Built for forgiveness, the a7 series features a low center of gravity for easier launch. This 37-inch club is ideal for golfers seeking a reliable mid-iron to fill a gap or replace a worn club. Part of Adams' acclaimed Idea line, it's designed to deliver solid feel and moderate workability.
Our take
I grabbed this Adams Idea a7 8-iron to test one of the most forgiving mid-irons from a few years back. At 37 degrees, it's a standard 8-iron loft, and the steel Players Lite shaft in regular flex makes it smooth for moderate swing speeds. On the course, the club launches nicely thanks to the low CG, and mishits aren't punished as harshly as with a blade. The feel is solid but not mushy. My only knock is the length feels a tad short at 37 inches for taller players, and the regular flex might be too soft for aggressive swingers. Still, for the price and performance, it's a great addition if you need a single club.
